In Sub-Saharan Africa, more than 50 million smallholder farmers are unable to grow enough food to feed their families. Thanks to One Acre Fund, a Mercy Partnership Fund investee, more than one million farmers have received seeds, fertilizer, education and access to markets to grow their way out of poverty.

One Acre Fund reaches smallholder farmers in Africa, many of whom live on less than $1 per day. Farmers only repay their loans when they’ve sold their crops at market, and they’ve historically seen an increase in profits by 50% within the first year. One Acre Fund also offers solar lights, cook stoves, trees and reusable sanitary pads to its farmers. Watch this video to hear from some of the one million farmers One Acre Fund has helped.
