Hope Enterprise Corporation (HOPE), a longtime Mercy Partnership Fund investee and part of a family of development organizations dedicated to strengthening communities, building assets and improving lives in the Deep South, has long played a leading role in addressing the systemic barriers that Black families and business owners face in building wealth. HOPE programs have generated or leveraged more than $3.6 billion in financing that has benefitted more than 2 million residents in one of the nation’s most persistently poor regions. This short video highlights some of the systemic challenges Black Americans face in building wealth and how HOPE is working to build pathways toward economic empowerment.
