Please join us in welcoming Kathryn McCloskey to Mercy Investment Services. During the month of June, Katie will work closely with Susan Makos to transition into the role of vice president of social responsibility. As vice president of social responsibility for Mercy Investment Services, Katie will be responsible for screening, shareholder advocacy and Mercy Partnership Fund components of the program, as well as Mercy Investment Services’ shareholder advocacy services for nine faith-based organizations.
For the last 13 years, Katie has served as the director, social responsibility for United Church Funds, which provides a socially responsible investment platform to faith-based organizations and churches of the United Church of Christ. For several of those years, she also served as the director of corporate social responsibility for The Pension Boards – United Church of Christ, the fiduciary for the retirement and benefits plan of laypeople and clergy of the United Church of Christ. Katie has held primary responsibility for engaging corporations and voting company proxies; leading efforts to modernize screening and integrate companies with positive environmental, social and governance records; and advocating to create new investment products to achieve environmental and social impacts. Katie has also been an active member of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, including as a board member, and has worked closely with Mercy Investment Services over on a number of corporate engagements, including advocating for human rights, access to health care and environmental sustainability.
