A new investment in Mercy Investment Services’ Environmental Solutions Fund, within the 80/20, 70/30 and 60/40 Mercy Funds and the 80/20 Sponsored Ministry Fund, is increasing the availability of electric vehicle charging stations.

Mercy Investment Services’ investment in Invenergy Future Fund is helping San Francisco-based Volta Charging grow its national network of electric vehicle charging stations. Volta currently has 1,000 faces on 500 charging stations in place in high-traffic areas and hopes to double its footprint by the end of the year. Volta uses advertising on the charging stations and partnerships with the location owners to keep the charging stations free for vehicle owners. Volta calculates that, to date, stations have delivered more than 22 million free electric miles, saving more than 9 million pounds of carbon dioxide.

Volta is currently located in 18 national markets. Click here to see where Volta’s current stations are and its plans for expansion.
