Aligning capital and values to empower women

Mercy Global Action, the global justice advocacy arm of Mercy International Association, recently invited Mercy Investment Services to collaborate on a panel discussion for the 2024 UN Commission on the Status of Women. The discussion on “Financing with Dignity: Aligning Capital and Values for Gender Justice” supports the Commission’s theme of “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.”

Bryan Pini, president, shared examples of Mercy Investment Services’ work on the critical concern of women, including investments through Mercy Partnership Fund. Other panelists including Ciara Feehely of Vita Green Impact Fund, a Mercy Partnership Fund investee; Marilyn Lacey, RSM, with Mercy Beyond Borders; and Elizabeth Garlow of the Francisco Collaborative joined Bryan in speaking to the opportunities and challenges of aligning capital with faith and values to positively impact women and girls.
